Vampire’s Kiss Dirty Soda Recipe
Vampire’s Kiss Dirty Soda: A Spooky Cherry Cola Recipe
A dark cherry raspberry cola with blood-red streaks and creamy, swirling layers.
Ingredients
Makes 1 drink
-
Ice cubes
-
250 ml chilled Dr Pepper or cola
-
2–3 drops FA Cherry flavour concentrate, or to taste
-
1 tablespoon cherry or raspberry dessert sauce
-
20–30 ml pouring cream, or thickened cream thinned with a little milk
-
A small swirl of whipped cream (optional)
-
1 maraschino cherry, to garnish
Method
-
Create the blood-red streaks. Chill a tall glass, then drizzle the dessert sauce down one side of the inside of the glass.
-
Add the ice. Fill the glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes.
-
Add the cherry flavour. Mix the recommended amount of FA Cherry flavour concentrate with one tablespoon of the chosen soft drink. Pour over the ice.
-
Pour the fizz. Slowly add the remaining Dr Pepper or cola, leaving 2–3 cm of space at the top. Stir gently once.
-
Create the creamy marbling. Slowly pour the cream over the ice near the top of the glass. Let it swirl naturally through the drink rather than stirring it completely in.
-
Add the finishing touch. Top with a small swirl of whipped cream, if desired, and garnish with a maraschino cherry. Serve immediately.
Tips for the Perfect Vampire’s Kiss
-
For a classic cola twist: Use regular cola to let the cherry concentrate add a distinct cherry flavour.
-
For a deeper flavour: Use Dr Pepper for a more complex, spiced soft drink base with an added cherry note.
-
For the best visual effect: Pour the cream slowly and avoid over-stirring to preserve the contrasting layers.
