No nuts. No nutritional yeast. No complicated steps.
Just a simpler way to create flavour.
Ingredients
- 250g pasta (macaroni or shells)
- 1 cup unsweetened plant milk (soy or oat recommended)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or vegan butter
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- 6–10 drops FA Cheddar flavour (Oil-Soluble)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
Cook the pasta
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to packet instructions. Drain and set aside.
Make the sauce
In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 30 seconds.
Add the milk
Slowly whisk in the plant milk until smooth. Continue stirring as the sauce thickens.
Build the flavour
Add cheddar flavour drops, salt, and pepper. Stir until glossy and creamy.
Combine and serve
Toss the cooked pasta through the sauce. Serve immediately.
Optional
Bake for 10–15 minutes for a golden top. Add garlic, mustard, or herbs for variation!
